Local 495 Annual Scholarship Awards

One of the cornerstones of the Teamster organization is to continually find ways to support our members and their families. Local 495 is extremely proud to acknowledge outstanding Teamster children. Each year, the Local awards ten (10) scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Recipients each receive $2,000 to help them with the costs of continuing their education at a college, university or accredited professional school.

The Local 495 Executive Board selects the recipients based on academic achievement, SAT/ACT scores, character, goals and the candidate’s essay. The scholarships are disbursed to the winner at a special awards meeting.
Parents of high school seniors are highly encouraged to explore all of the scholarship awards available to Teamster children including:

• IBT James Hoffa Scholarship
• Joint Council 42 Scholarship
• California Teamsters Hispanic Caucus
• International Teamsters Women’s Caucus Scholarships
